The concept of a lone good man trying to rebuild a decent society is a recurring one for Roddenberry shows. Genesis II and Planet Earth come to mind. The alien make-ups are more extreme than Trek's were, and the spaceship design is sleek and beautiful. The storylines were complex and on-going, even after RHW left in mid-season two, although many fans felt there was a dumbing down to accommodate the more casual viewer of the syndicated show and give the Dylan Hunt character the lion's share of the storylines.
